Bully Proof Kids - Borrow Box (Audio Book)

I came across the book when I was casually browsing on an app called “Borrow Box” - it is an audio book library that if you have a Hampshire library card, then you can log in and enjoy what is up there! (I had heard my friends from a different county accessing the app too!)

Bullying is such a common theme, most people thought it exists only in school and among children. In fact, it can happen within family and in the adult world, the play of power just became smarter.

I like the book because it breaks down the different types of bullies and the formation in the picture of bullying - the bully; the by-stander/ follower and the victim. It also provides practical solutions to handle and manage bullying. The scenarios in the book were set in the UK, so it does not feel too distant.

One of the highlights in the book talked about assertiveness, which from my observation that both English and Chinese cultures despise as it is often mistaken with being controlling and bossy, at times labelled as selfishness because someone voiced out their needs and set up boundaries.
